Under the theme &#8220;General Technological Education between Cultural Transmission and Innovation,&#8221; current discourses in technology education research and practice are brought together.<\/p>\n<p>The first thematic section addresses changes in educational practice and understandings of technology, including education for sustainable development, a teaching-learning lab for inclusive technology education, the connection between making-based approaches and technology education, invention as a technical development process, the relationship between technology and politics, and technical-creative action.<\/p>\n<p>The second section deals with the transmission of existing technical knowledge, for example through programming animations, children&#8217;s conceptions of gear mechanisms, the cultural dimension of industrial architecture using a case example, and the digitization of analog audio data.<\/p>\n<p>A third thematic complex addresses questions of teacher professionalization, including perception training for teachers without subject-specific qualifications, technical content in general\/interdisciplinary science education (Sachunterricht), graduated learning offerings, the analysis of technology textbooks, core engineering practices, and structural-analytical lesson planning.
